KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index snapped a two-day losing run and posted gains of 13.95 points to reach 2,748.78 points on Thursday.
Although the benchmark index had dipped initially, dropping to an intraday low of 2,730.61 points, it recovered thereafter and eventually ended the session 0.51% higher on the week’s last trading day.
Unit prices of 159 scrips advanced during the session, while 79 declined, and six remained unchanged. Janaki Finance Company Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session, with Rs 352.49 million worth of shares traded. Next were Ngadi Group Power Ltd and Samriddhi Finance Company Ltd, with turnovers of Rs 310.6 million and Rs 275.8 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, seven posted gains, while six ended the week in the red. The biggest gain came from the Hydropower sub-index which was up by 1.34%. Similarly, the Trading sub-index logged the highest loss of 0.62%.
Daily turnover improved significantly to Rs 10.32 billion on Thursday, compared to Rs 7.73 billion a day earlier.
