KATHMANDU: The market extended its losing run for a sixth session on Tuesday as the Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index closed trading 22.73 points lower at 2,610.21 points.
This is the Nepse index’s longest losing streak since January 28, when the market snapped a seven-day losing run. The Nepse index has lost 219.99 points over the past six trading sessions.
Share prices of 175 scrips declined during the session, while 65 advanced and four remained unchanged.
CEDB Hydropower Company Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 347.3 million worth of shares traded. NLG Insurance Company and Greenlife Hydropower Company followed with turnovers of Rs 211.01 million and Rs 192.70 million, respectively.
Except for the Finance, Non-Life, and Trading sub-indices, which posted marginal gains, all other sub-indices recorded losses. The biggest loss came from the Life Insurance sub-index, which was down by 1.85%.
Shares worth Rs 6.85 billion were traded on the bourse through 87,036 transactions on Wednesday.
