KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) extended losses for a third straight session on Sunday as the benchmark index fell 14.83 points to close the week’s first trading day at 2,037.09 points.
Share prices of 190 companies declined on the day, while 49 advanced and seven remained unchanged. Nepal Finance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the day with shares worth Rs 128.87 million changed hands. Next were Janaki Finance Company Ltd and United IDI Mardi RB Hydropower Ltd with turnovers of Rs 119.85 million and Rs 103.98 million, respectively.
All trading groups ended the session in the red except for the Finance and Manufacturing & Processing sub-indices which posted nominal gains. The biggest loss came from Microfinance sub-index which was down by 1.37%. Hydropower and Others sub-indices closed the session 1.06% and 0.95% lower
Shares worth Rs 3.60 billion were traded on the bourse through 50,952 transactions.
