KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index continued its losing run into its third straight session, slipping 10.25 points to settle at 2,662.14 on Tuesday.
The benchmark index has shed 46.56 points over the past three sessions.
Unit prices of 179 scrips declined during the session, while 74 advanced, and seven remained unchanged, as selling pressure outweighed buying interest across most sectors. Arun Valley Hydropower Development Company Ltd topped the turnover chart with Rs 452.84 million worth of shares traded. Ankhu Khola Jalavidyut Company Ltd and Ridi Power Company Ltd were next with turnovers of Rs 407.91 million and Rs 388.62 million, respectively.
Total turnover fell further to Rs 8.61 billion with 21.71 million units traded through 89,836 transactions.
Except for the Mutual Fund and Trading sub-indices, which posted nominal gains, all trading groups ended the session in the red. The Development Bank sub-index posted the biggest loss of 1.15%. Next were Finance and Life Insurance sub-indices with losses of 0.91% and 0.76%, respectively.
