KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) has extended its losing streak for a third straight session. The benchmark index ended the first trading day of the week 25.46 points lower at 2,701.90 on Sunday.
The Nepse index has lost 128.3 points over the past three sessions.
Share prices of 156 companies declined during the session, while 86 advanced and three remained unchanged. CEDB Hydropower Company Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 421.92 million worth of shares traded. Next were Hydropower Investment and Development Company (Promoters) and Greenlife Hydropower Ltd with turnovers of Rs 358.14 million and Rs 355.63 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, three posted gains, while the remaining 10 ended the session in the red. The biggest gain came from the Microfinance sub-index, which rose by 1.21 points, while the Development Bank index saw the largest drop, losing 2.07%.
Securities worth Rs 10.12 billion were traded on the bourse through 112,300 transactions on Sunday.
