KATHMANDU: The market extended its losing run for a third straight day as the benchmark Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index closed the first trading day of the week 9.19 points lower at 2,617.95 points on Sunday.
With this, the benchmark index has shed 47.86 points over the past three sessions.
Despite the loss, the share prices of three scrips hit the positive circuit of 10% during the session. Share prices of 141 scrips declined, while 91 advanced, and 11 remained unchanged. ICFC Finance Company Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with shares worth Rs 326.48 million traded. Next were SBI Bank Ltd and CEDB Hydropower Company with turnovers of Rs 216.23 million and Rs 188.67 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, five posted gains, while the remaining eight ended the session in the red. The biggest loss came from the Banking sub-index, which was down by 1.3%, while the Life Insurance sub-index posted the highest gain of 1.15%.
Securities worth Rs 4.73 billion were traded on the bourse through 56,646 turnovers.
