
KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index climbed 29.82 points to close trading at 2,693.12 on Sunday. With this, the benchmark index extended its gains to the third straight session.
Nepse index has gained 110.39 points over the past three sessions and is now inching closer to the psychological 2,700-point resistance level.
Unit prices of 222 securities advanced during the session, while 22 declined. The Investment sub-index led gains, surging 2.18%, followed by Others 2.08% and Finance 2.01%. Only the Trading and Mutual Fund sectors recorded minor losses.
Total turnover jumped to Rs 7.56 billion, with 15.57 million units of shares traded across 76,354 transactions.
Himalayan Reinsurance (HRL) logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 691.97 million worth of shares traded. Next were Nepal Reinsurance (NRIC) and NRN Infrastructure and Development (NRN) with turnovers of Rs 48.48 million and Rs 396.88 million, respectively.
