KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index posted a marginal gain of 3.58 points, closing the first trading day of the week at 2,661.60 points on Sunday.
Unit prices of 141 scrips declined during the session, while 104 posted gains.
Trading volume rose significantly to Rs 10.87 billion, up from Rs 7.78 billion in the previous session. A total of 28.43 million units of securities were traded on the bourse through 89,161 transactions on Sunday.
Ngadi Group Power recorded the highest turnover of the session with Rs 861.73 million worth of shares traded. NRN Infrastructure and Development and Radhi Bidyut Company were next with turnovers of Rs 563.86 million and Rs 562.05 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, six posted gains while the remaining seven ended the session in the red. The biggest gain came from the Investment sub-index, which was up by 1.77%. Likewise, the Finance sub-index recorded the biggest loss of 1.05%.
