
KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index posted a nominal gain of 3.14 points, closing trading at 2,743.74 points on Thursday—the last trading day of the week.
Although the benchmark index fell initially, reaching an intra-day low of 2,721.46 points, it moved on a green trajectory as the session progressed and eventually posted a nominal gain.
Despite the gain, unit prices of 158 scrips declined, while 81 advanced and five remained unchanged.
Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 656.6 million traded. Next were Himalayan Reinsurance Ltd and CEDB Holdings Ltd with turnovers of Rs 383.72 million and Rs 364.94 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, four posted gains, while nine logged losses. Trading and Life Insurance sub-indices went up by 3.77% and 2.42%, respectively, while Manufacturing & Processing logged the biggest loss of 0.81%.
Securities worth Rs 8.62 billion were traded on the bourse through 86,223 transactions on Thursday.
