KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) extended its gaining streak for a third straight session, adding 22.10 points to close the week’s first trading session at 2,052.65 points on Sunday.
Share prices of 194 companies increased on the day, while 46 declined, and four remained unchanged. Shivam Cement Ltd recorded the highest turnover of the day with Rs. 229.32 million worth of shares traded. Sonapur Minerals & Oil Ltd and Joshi Hydropower followed with turnovers of Rs. 181.39 million and Rs. 79.96 million, respectively.
All trading groups, except for the hydropower sub-index, which posted a nominal loss, ended the day in the green. The biggest gain came from the Microfinance sub-index, which was up by 4.21%, followed by Life Insurance and Finance sub-indices with gains of 1.84% and 1.4%, respectively.
A total of 7.04 million units of shares worth Rs. 2.92 billion were traded on the bourse on Sunday, while market capitalization reached Rs. 3.22 trillion.
