KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index extended its losing run for a sixth straight session, going down 6.32 points to close trading at 2,669.82 points on Tuesday.
Daily turnover fell to Rs 4.41 billion during the session – the lowest since November 5. Share prices of 148 companies declined on Tuesday, while 85 advanced and 10 remained unchanged.
NRN Infrastructure & Development Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 189.62 million worth of shares traded. Next were Sanima Mai Hydropower Company Ltd and Janaki Finance Ltd with turnovers of Rs 187.67 million and Rs 171.74 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, four posted gains and nine ended the session in red. The biggest loss came from the Life Insurance sub-index which was down by 1%. The Manufacturing & Processing group, on the other hand, posted the biggest gain of 0.33%.
A total of 8.77 million units of securities were traded on the bourse on Tuesday through 52,705 transactions.
