Nepse down 51.37 points; Rs 5.93 billion worth of shares traded

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index shed 51.37 points, closing trading at 2,630.91 points on Monday.

Share prices of 227 companies fell during the session, while 15 advanced and two remained unchanged.

NRN Infrastructure & Development Ltd logged the session’s highest turnover with Rs 264.59 million worth of shares traded. Next were Joshi Hydropower Development Company Ltd and Janai Finance Ltd with turnovers of Rs 188.94 million and Rs 184.91 million, respectively.

All trading groups ended the session in red. The biggest loss came from the Finance sub-index, which was down by 4.41%. Trading and Hydropower followed with losses of 3.55% and 2.36%, respectively. The market heavyweight Banking sub-index also declined by 1.49%.

Securities worth Rs 5.93 billion were traded on the bourse through 67,648 transactions on Monday.
