KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) fell 32.81 points and closed trading at 2,486.76 points on Thursday – the last trading day of the week.

Although the market posted gains initially, reaching to an all-time high of 2,541.69 points, the benchmark index failed to maintain momentum and eventually ended the session 1.3% lower.

Share prices of 202 companies declined on the day, while 38 advanced and four remained unchanged. Api Power Company logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 479.96 million worth of shares traded. Next were NLG Insurance Company Ltd and CEDB Hydropower Development Company Ltd with turnovers of Rs 177.35 million and Rs 142.55 million, respectively.

Among trading groups, 11 ended the session in red, while one posted gains and one remained unchanged. The biggest loss came from the Hotels & Tourism sub-index which was up by 2.34%.

The market logged turnovers of Rs 4.84 billion through 65,258 transactions on Thursday.
