Nepse down 30.02 points; all sectoral indices close lower

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index opened the week on a weak note, closing 30.02 points lower at 2,566.09 points on Sunday.

The benchmark slipped 1.15% percent as selling pressure persisted across most sectors.

Market breadth remained negative as unit prices of 222 listed companies fell, while 28 advanced and one remained unchanged. Overall market turnover also dropped to Rs 4.91 billion, with 10.61 million shares traded through 47,268 transactions.

Union Hydropower Ltd recorded the highest turnover at Rs 277.67 million. Nepal Reinsurance Company and NRN Infrastructure and Development Ltd followed with Rs 235.33 million and Rs 218.98 million worth of shares traded, respectively.

All sectoral indices ended the day in the red. The Finance sub-index saw the sharpest decline of 2.91%, while the Development Bank and Investment sub-indices dropped 1.81% and 1.55%, respectively.
