KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) fell by 19.56 points and ended the last trading day of the week at 1,972.14 points on Thursday. This is the fifth session that the benchmark Nepse index has logged losses.
Share prices of 211 companies declined on the day, while 27 advanced and six remained unchanged. Gurkhas Finance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the day with shares worth Rs 181.27 million traded. Surya Jyoti Life Insurance Company Ltd and Pokhara Finance Ltd were next with turnovers of Rs 108.62 million and Rs 77.73 million, respectively.
All the trading groups posted the day in the red. The biggest loss came from Microfinance group which was down by 1.72 points. Manufacturing & Processing and Development sub-indices were next with losses of 1.54% and 1.465, respectively.
Shares worth Rs 2.09 billion were traded on the bourse on Thursday, while market capitalization reached Rs 3.12 trillion.
