KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) extended its losing run for a second straight session on Sunday, losing 17.04 points to close the session at 2,095.25 points.
Share prices of 177 companies declined on the day, while 64 advanced and six remained unchanged. Nepal Finance Ltd was the biggest gainer of the day as its price hit the positive circuit of 10%. Nepal Finance Ltd also logged the highest turnover of the session with shares worth Rs 304.05 million traded. Next were NRN Infrastructure & Development and Ngadi Group Power Ltd with turnovers of Rs 181.97 million and Rs 152.51 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, only Hotels & Tourism sub-index posted nominal gains. All other sub-indices ended the session in the red. The biggest loss came from the Microfinance sub-index which was down by 1.71%. Next were Development Bank and Others sub-indices with losses of 1.2% and 1.12%, respectively.
Shares worth Rs 5.47 billion were traded on the bourse on Sunday through 71,997 transactions, while market capitalization reached Rs 3.32 trillion.
