KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index fell by 11.60 points to 2,060.16 points on Wednesday.
The benchmark index moved in the red trajectory right after trading began and failed to recover and eventually ended the session 0.56% lower.
Share prices of only 57 companies went up on the day, while 186 declined and three remained unchanged. Nepal Finance Ltd logged the highest turnover of the day with shares worth Rs 164.71 million traded. Next were Goodwill Finance Ltd and NRN Infrastructure and Development with turnovers of Rs 151.64 million and Rs 133.35 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, only Finance, Trading and Mutual Fund sub-indices posted moderate gains. All other trading groups ended the session in the red with the maximum loss coming from Development Bank sub-index which was down by 1.03%. Investment and Banking sub-indices were also down by 0.91% and 0.65%, respectively.
Securities worth Rs 4.05 billion were traded through 54,793 transactions on Wednesday.
