Nepse down 10.44 points

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index recorded a loss of 10.44 points to end the last trading day of the week at 2,068.31 points on Thursday.

Share prices of 186 companies declined on the day, while 52 advanced and eight remained unchanged. Mountain Energy Nepal logged the highest turnover of the day with shares worth Rs 171.48 million traded. Next were NRN Infrastructure and Development Ltd and CEDB Hydropower and Development Company with turnovers of Rs 157.48 million and Rs 99.96 million, respectively.

Among trading groups, only the Finance and Mutual Fund sub-indices ended the day in the green. While the Finance sub-index logged the highest gain of 1.82%, the biggest loss came from the Hotels & Tourism sub-index, which fell by 0.92%. Eleven out of 13 trading groups ended the session in the red.

A total of 8.66 million units of shares worth Rs 3.87 billion were traded on the bourse through 53,107 transactions on Thursday.
