KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index fell 10.41 points, closing trading at 2,643.93 points on Sunday – the first trading day of the week.
Despite the drop, daily turnover improved to Rs 9.12 billion compared to Rs 773.68 billion on the previous trading day.
Unit prices of 116 scrips advanced, while 121 declined and six remained unchanged. Saptakoshi Development Bank Ltd logged the highest turnover of the session with Rs 395.37 million worth of shares traded. Next were Nepal Reinsurance Company Ltd and NRN Infrastructure and Development with turnovers of Rs 384.25 million and Rs 358.73 million, respectively.
Sectorwise, five sub-indices posted gains, while eight ended the session in the red. The biggest loss came from the Finance sub-index which was down by 4.76%. Microfinance sub-index, on the other hand, posted the highest gain of 0.75%.
A total of 15.72 million scrips were traded on the bourse through 94,813 transactions on Sunday.
