KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) closed 38.37 points lower at 2,051.47 points on Sunday, the first trading day of the week.
All trading groups ended in the red, with the Hotels & Tourism index registering the highest loss of 3.59%. The Finance and Development Bank sub-indices followed closely, sliding by 3.43% and 2.5%, respectively.
Sanima Bank Ltd recorded the highest turnover of the day with shares worth Rs 126.98 million traded. Everest Bank Ltd and NIC Asia Ltd were next on the list with turnovers of Rs 122.12 million and Rs 111.28 million, respectively.
Only 20 companies saw their share prices go up on Sunday, while the share prices of 197 companies declined, and two remained unchanged. Both the companies listed on the secondary market on Sunday, IME Life Insurance and Nepal Republic Media, recorded a positive circuit of 10% on the day.
A total of 8,007,361 units of shares worth Rs 2.68 billion were traded in the bourse through 61,917 transactions on Sunday.
