KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) extended its winning run for a sixth straight session, gaining 75.33 points to close trading at 2,563.43 points on Tuesday.
The benchmark index has breached the psychological 2,500-point mark, thanks to six days of gains. The index has gained 323.02 points during the period.
Share prices of 220 companies advanced on the day while 19 declined and three remained unchanged. Unit prices of six companies hit the positive circuit of 10% during the session.
Shivam Cements Ltd logged the session’s highest turnover with shares worth Rs 246.92 million traded. Next on the list were Api Power Company and Himalayan Reinsurance Ltd with turnovers of Rs 242.61 million and Rs 230.26 million, respectively. Five companies logged turnovers above Rs 200 million during the session.
All the trading groups posted gains on the day. The biggest gain came from the Trading sub-index, which was up by 5.06%. Next were Life Insurance and Non-life Insurance with gains of 4.45% and 4.37%, respectively.
A total of 39.79 million units of shares worth Rs 14.11 billion were traded on the bourse through 171,387 transactions on Tuesday.
