KATHMANDU: The Nepali national women’s football team will play two international friendly matches in India next month.
According to the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), Nepal will play friendlies against India and Iran in Shillong, Meghalaya.
Nepal will play against Iran on October 24 and against host India on October 27.
Both opponents are ranked above Nepal in the FIFA rankings. Nepal currently sits at 89th, while India is ranked 63rd and Iran 70th.
The Nepali women’s team last competed in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers in July. Nepal missed out on a spot in the Asian Cup after losing to Uzbekistan in a penalty shootout, with both teams finishing level on points and goal difference.
