KATHMANDU: Nepal Army (NA) has said that all Nepali peacekeepers deployed under the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF) in Syria are safe.
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad fled to Russia after the rebel group, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, captured the capital on Sunday night.
“During these events, armed groups forcibly entered the 10-A security post in Haddara where Nepali peacekeepers were stationed on Saturday,” the NA said in a statement on Monday. “The condition of Nepali peacekeepers deployed at various locations, including the mentioned security post, remains normal.”
