Nepali mission in Abu Dhabi organizes interaction on investment promotion

KATHMANDU: The Embassy of Nepal in Abu Dhabi on Friday organized an interaction aimed at promoting trade, investment and tourism between Nepal and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Around 100 Nepali professionals and entrepreneurs based in the UAE, actively working in various sectors including business, investment, and tourism, participated in the event, according to a press statement issued by the embassy.

Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Tej Bahadur Chhetri said Nepal offers immense potential in trade, tourism and investment. He added that the embassy plans to engage in regular discussions with stakeholders from both countries in the future. He highlighted Nepal’s priority sectors for investment, like agriculture, hydropower, infrastructure, tourism, and information technology.

Deputy Chief of Mission Ranjita Dahal made a presentation on Nepal-UAE trade relations, investment prospects, legal frameworks and upcoming bilateral agreements necessary to facilitate investment and tourism.

Participants, including representatives from the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA), shared insights on improving customs and administrative procedures, supporting air cargo for Nepali exports, offering attractive tourism packages, and promoting Nepal through local media and events such as the Arabian Travel Mart.
