KATHMANDU: The Consulate General of Nepal in Chengdu hosted a National Day Reception and Nepal’s Tourism Promotion event in Chengdu on Friday.
In his welcome speech, Consul General Dinesh Kumar Ghimire underscored the deep-rooted historical ties between Nepal and China. He explored the potential for collaboration in various sectors, including trade, investment, tourism, connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges. Ghimire also expressed satisfaction at the increasing interactions between Nepal and the Western Region of China in various fields. “I invite participants of this event to visit Nepal for a firsthand experience,” he added.
Zhang Tao, the Director General of the Sichuan Provincial Foreign Affairs Office, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, Tao extended congratulations to the Nepali consulate and highlighted the growing political, social, economic, and interpersonal relations between Nepal and the Western Region of China. She also emphasized that the continued expansion and development of Sichuan and the Western Region of China would create better prospects for future cooperation and growth.
The event showcased Nepali handicrafts and products, cultural dances performed by Nepali communities, and the screening of Nepal’s tourism promotional videos.
According to a statement issued by the Nepali consulate, Nepal’s Tourism Promotion event was sponsored and supported by Air China Southwest Regional Branch and the Nepal National Pavilion.
Among the attendees were Chinese government officials, business figures, Chinese friends and well-wishers, as well as Nepali communities, including students, entrepreneurs, and professionals.
