KATHMANDU: Three Nepali climbers have completed the first successful ascent of all three summits of the Ghyun Himal in a single continuous push.
According to the Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA), its Executive Member Bikram Karki and veteran climbers Pasang Kaji Sherpa and Prem Magar summited Ghyun Himal I (6,099m), Ghyun Himal II (6,029m), and Ghyun Himal III (6,027m) on January 12.
The team carried out the entire expedition in pure alpine style, without establishing fixed camps or using fixed ropes. It completed the three-summit traverse in 7 hours and 5 minutes.
According to the NMA, the climbers reached the summit of Ghyun Himal I at 5:40 am, followed by Ghyun Himal III at 9:20 am, before completing the traverse with the summit of Ghyun Himal II at 12:45 pm.
Ghyun Himal sits on the Nepal-China border in the Damodar Himal range in Mustang district.
