Nepal, US joint military exercise begins

KATHMANDU: The 12th edition of the joint exercise between the Nepali Army and the US Army has begun at Chhauni in Kathmandu.

According to the Nepali Army, 35 Nepal Army soldiers and 19 US Army soldiers are participating in the exercise. The exercise will be held until February 3. It will also be held at Nagarkot.

The focus of the joint exercise is on search and rescue operations during disasters, according to Nepal Army.

In preparation for potential incidents related to cable cars, the Nepali Army recently conducted a rescue operation simulation in collaboration with Chandragiri Hills Limited in Chandragiri, Kathmandu. Officers from the Shree No 1 Disaster Management Battalion and the Yuddha Bhairav Battalion participated in the simulation, according to the Director of Disaster Management.
