KATHMANDU: The Nepali national men’s cricket team will play three one-day matches against the Sri Lanka Development Squad in Sri Lanka before heading to Canada.

The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) said in a post on X on Friday that Nepal will play a three-match one-day series in Sri Lanka to prepare for the ICC Cricket World Cup League (WCL) 2 tri-series in Canada. Oman is the other side in the tri-series.

The dates and fixtures of the tri-series have not been announced.

Nepal will tour Sri Lanka on September 2-9 before heading to Canada, where it will play two ODI matches each against Oman and Canada.

This will be Nepal’s second tri-series in the WCL 2. Nepal lost three out of four matches in its first series held in Kathmandu in February. While Nepal lost both matches against Namibia, it won one against the Netherlands.

The Netherlands is at the top of the eight-nation league with 12 points from eight matches. Nepal, which has played four matches, sits in the seventh position with two points.
