
KATHMANDU: Nepal conceded a 23-run defeat against Namibia in the Women’s T20 Quadrangular Series at the Entebbe Oval in Entebbe, Uganda, on Wednesday.
This is Nepal’s third defeat in four matches in the series so far.
Batting first, Namibia scored 125 runs for the loss of eight wickets. In reply, Nepal was all out for 102 runs for the loss of five wickets
Yasmeen Khan top-scored for Namibia, scoring 45 off 44 balls. Milka Mwatile, Jurriene Diergaardt, and Sune Wittmann contributed 20, 16*, and 15, respectively.
Ishwori Bist claimed three wickets for Nepal but gave away 40 runs in her four-over spell. Rachana Kumari Chaudhary grabbed two wickets, while Captain Indu Barma and Riya Sharma got a wicket each.
Nepal made a poor start in the chase as opener Samjhana Khadka was out in the third over for 2. Sana Praveen scored 31 off 27 balls, while Puja Mahato and Indu Barma scored 15 each. Kabita Joshi and Mamta Chaudhary remained not out at 17 and 8, respectively.
Evelyne Kejarukua claimed two wickets for Namibia, while Wilka Mwatile, Saima Tuhadeleni and Mekelanye Mwatile grabbed a wicket each.
Nepal will play its next match against Uganda on Thursday.
