Nepal suffers 10-wicket defeat against WI, takes series 2-1

KATHMANDU: Nepal fell to a resurgent West Indies by 10 wickets in the final T20I of the three-match series on Tuesday, but still scripted history by clinching the series 2–1 – its first-ever series victory over a full member nation.

Invited to bat first, Nepal was bowled out for just 122 runs in 19.5 overs. Kushal Bhurtel top-scored for Nepal with a 29-ball 39, while Captain Rohit Paudel contrIbuted 17. Sundeep Jora (14), Kushal Malla (12) and Gulsan Jha (10) were the only other batters who reached double digits for Nepal.

Ramon Simmonds claimed four wickets for West Indies, Jediah Blades picked two, and Akeal Hosein and Jason Holder had a wicket each to their names.

West Indies openers made light work of the chase as they reached the target with 46 balls to spare. Amir Jangoo scored 74 off 45, while Ackeem Auguste contributed 41 off 29.

Nepal had won the first two matches of the series by 19 runs and 90 runs, respectively.
