KATHMANDU: The Nepali men’s football team lost 0-4 defeat to Tajikistan in a three-nation friendly event on Thursday.
Shervoni Mabatshoeve and Alisher Jailov both scored a brace as the hosts trashed Nepal, which was playing its first match in five months, in Dushanbe.
This was the fourth meeting between the two sides. Nepal has suffered defeats in all past three encounters.
The two sides first met in 2018 in the Bangabandhu Gold Cup in Dhaka where Nepal lost 0-2. Nepal also suffered 1-2 and 0-3 defeats against Tajikistan in the 2017 AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers.
Nepal will play the second friendly against Afghanistan on Saturday.
