SURKHET: Nepal Police Club has won the 34th National Volleyball Tournament, defeating fellow departmental side Nepal APF Club in 3-1 sets.

In the match played in Karnali Province headquarters Surkhet, Nepal APF won the first set 25-22. However, Nepal Police Club won the next three sets 25-19, 25-18 and 25-23 to lift the trophy. It was Nepal AFP Club’s first defeat in the tournament.

With the victory, Nepal Police Club won the cash prize of Rs 100,000, a shield, medals and certificates.

Earlier, Gandaki Province clinched the bronze medal by defeating Nepal Army Army in 3-1 sets.

A total of ten teams – seven provincial teams and three departmental sides – participated in the tournament. The teams were divided into two groups each having five teams.
