Nepal Police changes chiefs of seven provinces Nepal Police Headquarters

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police Headquarters has announced changes in the leadership of its seven province offices.

According to a notice published by the police headquarters, DIG Tek Prasad Rai, who is serving as the spokesperson for the police, has been transferred to the Lumbini Province Police Office. DIG Basanta Bahadur Kunwar has been appointed as the new Chief of Madhesh Province Police Office, and will be transferring from his current position at the police headquarters.

The police headquarters has also announced the transfer of DIG Bhim Prasad Dhakal to the Karnali Province Police Office, DIG Deepak Thapa to the Bagmati Province Police Office in Hetauda, DIG Ashok Singh to the Sudurpashchim Province Office in Dhangadhi, DIG Buddhiraj Ghurung to the Gandaki Province Police Office in Pokhara, and DIG Shyamlal Gyawali as the new Chief of Province 1 Police Office in Bigatnagar.

Similarly, new responsibilities have been given to 10 other DIGs. DIG Kiran Bajrharachayr has been transferred from the Bagmati Province Police Office to the police headquarters, and DIG Sandip Bhandari has been moved from the Police Training School in Bharatpur to the police headquarters. In addition, DIG Sudip Giri has been transferred from the Province 1 Police Office to the Special Bureau at the headquarters, and the Chief of the Gandaki Province Police Office has also been brought to the police headquarters.

Likewise, DIG Poshraj Pokharel has been transferred from the Karnali Province Police Office to the IG’s Secretariat, DIG Durga Singh has been moved from the Central Bureau of Investigation to the Nepal Police Training School in Bharatpur, and DIG Kiran Rana has been transferred from the Kathmandu Valley Police Office in Ranipokhari to Tribhuvan International Airport.
