Nepal names 15-member squad for U-19 Asia Cup

KATHMANDU: Nepal has announced the squad to participate in the ACC U-19 Men’s Asia Cup.

Issuing a statement on Sunday, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) named the 15-member squad captained by Hemant Dhami.

Dilshad Ali, Rajesh Yadav, and Dayanand, who were shortlisted for the squad, could not make it to the final selection.

The U-19 Asia Cup will be held in the UAE from November 29 to December 8. The tournament features eight teams categorized into two groups.

Nepal is in Group ‘B’ alongside Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. Group ‘A’ includes India, Pakistan, UAE, and Japan.

Nepal will face Sri Lanka on November 29, followed by matches against Bangladesh on December 1 and Afghanistan on December 3.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.

The semifinals will be played on December 6, while the final will be held on December 8 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Hemant Dhami (Captain), Akash Tripathi, Uttam Thapa Magar, Mayan Yadav, Naren Saud, Arjun Kumal (Vice-Captain), Yunish Bikram Singh Thakuri, Santosh Yadav, Yuvaraj Khatri, Roshan Bishwokarma, Naren Bhatta, Bipin Kumar Mahato, Aparajit Poudel, Abhishek Tiwari, and Ranjit Kumar.
