Nepal Music Fest in four Japanese cities

KATHMANDU: Nepali music is set to enthrall audiences in Japan with the upcoming Nepal Music Fest 2025.

This grand music festival will be held in August across four major Japanese cities: Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Nagoya.

Organizers of the event believe that the festival, launched with the primary objective of connecting Nepali music with the world, will help establish Nepali music, culture and community on an international stage.

The festival will feature special performances by three popular Nepali music groups: Swar, The Edge and Cobweb. Swar, known for blending traditional Nepali melodies with modern styles, is prepared to captivate audiences with hit songs like ‘Aparibhashit’, ‘Badal Sari’, and ‘Ma Mare Pani’. The Edge band, which has built a deep connection with the younger generation through emotionally charged and socially conscious songs, will make this festival special as part of their 25th anniversary celebration. Similarly, the presence of Cobweb, a band credited with revolutionizing Nepali rock music, is also considered a major highlight of the event.

The festival will kick off with a show in Tokyo on August 3, then proceed to Osaka, Fukuoka and Nagoya.
