KATHMANDU: Nepal is playing its first match of the third tri-series of the ICC World Cricket League-2 with the US and Scotland on Sunday.

The match will kick off at Grand Prairie in Texas at 9:15 pm (NST).

The US lost the first match of the tri-series against Scotland by two wickets on Friday.

Nepal is scheduled to play against the US on October 27 and November 2, while it will take on Scotland on October 29 and November 4.

Nepal is seventh on the eight-team table with only three points from eight matches in two tri-series series so far. While it won only one match of the home series with the Netherlands and Namibia, it got only one point from its second series against Canada and Oman in Canada in September.

Canada tops the WCL-2 table with 16 points from 12 matches. The US is second with 12 points from nine matches, while Scotland is fourth with 11 points from eight matches.

In total, Nepal will play nine triangular series in the World Cup League 2, which runs until 2027.

Nepal and USA have faced each other seven times in ODIs. Nepal has won 4 matches, lost 2, and drawn 1.

In their most recent encounter in Zimbabwe last year, Nepal defeated the USA by 6 wickets. Nepal successfully chased down USA’s target of 208 runs in 43 overs, losing 4 wickets.
