KATHMANDU: The 16th meeting of the Nepal-India Bilateral Consultative Group on Security Issues concluded in Pune, India, on Tuesday.
Munu Mahawar, Additional Secretary (North) of India’s Ministry of External Affairs and Gahendra Rajbhandari, Joint Secretary (South Asia) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led their respective delegations in the meeting. The delegations also comprised the respective foreign affairs and defense ministries as well as the Indian Army and Nepal Army.
The two sides held productive discussions on a wide range of issues relating to security and defence cooperation, such as equipment supplies, training, joint military exercises, disaster relief operations, and military exchanges.
Established in 2003, the mechanism coordinates bilateral defence and security cooperation.
