KATHMANDU: Nepal defeated Bahrain by 10 wickets in its second match of the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier in Malaysia on Friday.
Nepal overcame the target of 32 runs set by Bahrain without losing any wickets in 2.5 overs.
Batting first, Bahrain had posted 31 runs, losing all wickets in 15.4 overs. Captain Dipika Rasangika scored 11 runs for Bahrain. Other Bahraini batters failed to reach double digits.
Indu Barma took three wickets for Nepal, while Khushi Dangol had two wickets to her name. Kabita Kunwar, Puja Mahato, and Rubina Chhetry took one wicket each.
Nepal chased the target playing just 17 balls. Kabita Kunwar scored 17 runs off 14 balls, while Sita Rana Magar scored two off three. Bahrain bowlers bowled 13 wides in the innings.
Nepal was defeated by five runs in its first match of the qualifier. Nepal is placed in Group ‘A’, which also includes UAE, Qatar, and Bhutan.
