KATHMANDU: Nepal registered a dominant 370-run victory over Indonesia in its third group-stage match at the ACC Men’s U16 East Zone Cup 2025 at the Selangor Turf Club, Malaysia, on Sunday.
Invited to bat first, Nepal scored a massive 420 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 50 overs, riding on opener Prashiddha Jaisi’s ton. Nepal then bundled out Indonesia for just 50 runs in 24.3 overs, as captain Bipin Sharma claimed six wickets for just 12 runs in 7.3 overs.
Openers Prashiddha and Parimarjan Yadav added 130 runs for Nepal in just 10 overs. Parimarjan was the more aggressive of the duo, scoring 71 off just 28 balls. He clubbed eight sixes and four fours. Prashiddha also struck 15 fours and one six in his knock of 132 runs off 114 balls. Although Nepal lost Shiwansh Bajgain (4) cheaply, Raunak Srivastav (88) built the highest partnership of the innings with Prashiddha, adding 148 runs off 136 balls. Joy Thapa also scored a half-century, contributing 57 off 41 balls, while Sugam Budhathoki remained not out on 39 off 34 balls.
I Ketut Darma Putra claimed two wickets for Indonesia, while Kevin Neeraj Chadda, Mahendra Aji and Rahyhan Riza took a wicket each.
Opener Kavin Neeraj Chadda top-scored for Nepal, scoring 15 off 34 balls. Divit Nanda scored 14 off 31 balls. Other Indonesian batters failed to reach double digits.
Sugam Budhathoki and Shubham Khanal chipped in with a wicket each for Nepal
Nepal will play its final group-stage match against Bhutan on Tuesday.
