Nepal completes T20I series sweep against US with eight-wicket victory

KATHMANDU: Nepal has completed a clean sweep of the three-match T20I series against the US, defeating the hosts by eight wickets in the third match in Dallas on Monday morning.

Batting first after winning the toss, the US scored 156 losing eight wickets. Nepal chased down the target of 157 runs in 18.4 overs losing two wickets.

Opener Aasif Sheikh top-scored for Nepal, while Kushal Malla and Kushal Bhurtel scored unbeaten 44 and 40 runs, respectively, to seal the series with eight balls to spare. Anil Sah scored 13.

Juanoy Drysdale and Jasdeep Singh took a wicket each for the US.

Earlier, Saiteja Muakkamalla scored a magnificent 68 off 51 balls, while Milind Kumar hit a not-out 43 off 35 balls. They, however, did not get support from other batters. Aaron Jones and Harmeet Singh scored 13 and 10, respectively. Other US batters failed to reach double digits.

Sompal Kami took three wickets for Nepal, while Rijan Dhakal and Lalit Rajbanshi each had one wicket.

Sompal Kami was adjuged the Player of the Series.
