KATHMANDU: Nepal played a 1-1 draw against Bangladesh in its last group match of the Asian Games Women’s Football in Hangzhou, China, on Thursday.
Bangladesh took the lead in the first half when Sabina Khatun scored in the 44th minute of the match. Nepal equalized in the 83rd minute of the match when Rekha Poudel scored by utilizing Sabitra Bhandari’s pass.
Nepal and Bangladesh were in Group D along with Vietnam and Japan.
Both sides had faced defeats in their first two games against Japan and Vietnam. Nepal conceded a 0-8 defeat against Japan and 0-2 against Vietnam, while Bangladesh suffered a 0-8 defeat against Japan and 1-6 against Vietnam.
