KATHMANDU: The Nepal Army has won a gold medal at the Exercise Cambrian Patrol 2025 held in Brecon, Wales, United Kingdom.

According to the Directorate of Public Relations and Information of the Nepal Army, the Nepali team secured the gold medal with the highest score in the exercise conducted from October 9 to 11.

A total of 117 teams from 33 countries, including the United Kingdom, took part in the event. The international-level military exercise has been held annually since 1960. The Nepal Army has been participating in the exercise since 2014.

The exercise requires participants to cover a 50-kilometre route within two days while carrying weapons, equipment weighing around 50 pounds and supplies. Teams are assessed on their preparation, intelligence gathering, casualty management and other operational skills.

The Nepal Army also won gold medals in the competition in 2017, 2019 and 2024 as well.
