KATHMANDU: A team from the Nepal Army has begun installing a Bailey bridge over the Sunkoshi River at Khurkot.
One span of the bridge connecting Ramechhap and Dolakha districts to the Tarai via the BP Highway was swept away by recent floods triggered by heavy rain, depriving people there of the easy connection to the capital Kathmandu and the Tarai region.
The Nepal Army transported parts of the Bailey bridge to the construction site at Khurkot on Monday.
“The Nepal Army has commenced the construction of the Bailey bridge over the Sunkoshi River, connecting the BP Highway with the Pushpalal Highway,” the Nepal Army wrote in a social media post on X.
