KATHMANDU: Nepal has announced a 17-member squad captained by Rohit Poudel for the ACC Asia Cup 2023.
The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced the squad on Monday. CAN has also said that Nepal will reach Pakistan one week earlier to prepare for the Asia Cup 2023.
Nepal is placed in Group ‘A’ with India and Pakistan, while Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are in Group ‘B’. The top two sides from each group will qualify for the Super Four.
Nepal will play its first match against Pakistan in Multan before meeting India in Kandy, Sri Lanka, on September 4. Most of the matches of the Asia Cup have been moved to Sri Lanka following India’s refusal to play on Pakistani soil.
This is the first time that Nepal has been selected for the ACC Asia Cup.
