NCP finalizes nominees for eight HoR seats under PR system

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has finalized its nominees for members of the House of Representatives under the proportional representation (PR) system.

The party had entrusted the party’s Coordinator, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and Joint Coordinator, Madhav Kumar Nepal, to finalize the names.

The NCP has picked Pramesh Hamal (male) and Balabati Sharma (female) from the Khas Arya cluster, Parshuram Tamang (male) and Bhim Kumari Budha (female) from Indigenous Nationalities, Prem Byak (male) from Persons with Disabilities, Jog Kumar Barbariya Yadav (male) from Madheshi, Parbati BK (female) and Ganesh BK (male) from Dalits, and Nirasha Chaudhary Dagaura (female) from the Tharu cluster.

The party won eight first-past-the-post (FPTP) seats in the elections held on March 5, while it was allotted 9 PR seats from 811,577 PR votes. This brought the party’s total tally in the new House of Representatives to 17.
