KATHMANDU: Munindra Jung Gurung of Nepali Congress has been elected to the Gandaki Province Assembly from Manang (A) constituency.
Gurung received 1,255 votes, while his closest contender, Rajan Gurung of CPN-UML, received 925 votes.
A total of 2,210 votes were cast in Manang (A) constituency, according to District Election Office, Manang. Of them, six votes were declared invalid.
Rajiv Gurung aka Deepak Manange of Nepali Congress was elected unopposed from Manang (B) constituency.
Meanwhile, Tek Bahadur Gurung of Nepali Congress is leading from the Manang constituency of the House of Representatives. Gurung has received 2025 votes. UML’s Polden Chhopang Gurung is trailing him with 1,803 votes.
