KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has decided to expand its central party office premises in Sanepa, Lalitpur, by acquiring adjoining land.
According to NC’s Central Office Chief Secretary, Krishna Prasad Paudel, the party has decided to purchase a three-storey house spread over one ropani, three ana, and three paisa of land in front of the party office.
The property belongs to Amir Man Amatya and will cost the party Rs 130 million.
The party signed an agreement with Amatya to purchase the land in the presence of General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwo Prakash Sharma, and Treasurer Umesh Shrestha on Wednesday.
NC has already paid a token amount of Rs 5 million to Amatya. According to the agreement, the transaction must be settled within one year.
The party has said the amount will be raised through levies at various organisational levels and voluntary contributions from well-wishers.
