KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) Chief Whip, Ramesh Lekhak, Chief Whip of the Nepali Congress, affirmed that there are no discussions about changing the government at present.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday following the party’s parliamentary meeting, Lekhak emphasized that the Nepali Congress is not advocating for a change in the government’s leadership at the moment. “Our lawmakers expressed their opinions on a wide range of issues. However, there were no discussions about changing the government,” Lekhak stated after the meeting, which started on Friday.
According to Lekhak, 50 lawmakers have shared their perspectives over the past two days. “Our parliamentary party meeting will continue on Monday as well. We will disclose the decisions made during the meeting after all lawmakers have shared their viewpoints,” he added.
The majority of lawmakers expressed the view that the government should establish a high-level investigation committee to look into the 100 kg gold smuggling case.
The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has been disrupting parliament sessions, demanding the formation of a high-level committee for investigating the smuggling issue.
