KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Kusumdevi Thapa has been elected as the Chairperson of the Agriculture, Cooperatives and Natural Resource Committee of the House of Representatives.
A meeting of the committee held on Tuesday unanimously elected Thapa to the position.
The position became vacant following the appointment of Dr Arzu Rana Deuba as the Minister for Foreign Affairs.
Talking to the media after her election, Chairperson Thapa said she would focus on making necessary laws and policies for the promotion of agriculture sector.
