KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has called a joint meeting of the party’s central working committee and parliamentary party.
The joint meeting will convene at the party’s central office in Sanepa at 11 am Wednesday.
The meeting has been called to discuss the current political developments, according to the party’s Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Paudel.
The NC has been obstructing parliamentary proceedings for the past many days demanding the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee to probe the alleged involvement of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Rabi Lamichhane, in cooperative frauds.
Although the ruling and opposition parties were said to be near to forging a consensus on the formation of such a panel, consensus eluded them on the content of terms of reference of the committee.
The NC hasn’t held its central working committee meeting since it held its Mahasamiti meeting in Lalitpur on February 19-22.
